globalistas, liberales y tontos utiles e inutiles.
President Obama's Immigration Accountability Executive Actions will affect up to 4.9
million undocumented immigrants in the U.S. The highlight of the announcement
is the Deferred Action for Parents program, which includes: l Parents of U.S.
citizens and permanent residents are eligible if their child was born on or before
November 20, 2014. l They will benefit from having any deportation action
deferred for them and they will also receive employment authorization.
l Other requirements include continuous residence since January 1, 2010
and not being a priority for removal. You can learn more about priority
removals here. People impacted by this history-making executive order
from Barack Obama should prepare themselves for the coming months
and get ready to send in their applications. Here are some things that you
will need to know and prepare for: l Start saving for application costs
l Collect documents that you will need to submit with your application
l Put together your reasons for why you should benefit from this
executive order l Pay attention to new developments because new
information comes out every day! If you are one of the 4.9 million
undocumented immigrants who will benefit from this executive order,
the time to start collecting documents and making your case is now!
Deferred Action In 2012, Barack Obama issued an executive order
that would quickly be known as “DACA,” which is a type of
administrative relief where a qualified individual can ask the USCIS
for the right to work and avoid deportation. The qualifications of
the program stated that in order to receive deferred action the applicant
would have to show that they arrived in the U.S. as a child and therefore
faultless in their undocumented status. DACA has been expanded by
President Obama's newest executive action to include the following
groups of people: l Undocumented immigrants who came to
the U.S. as children who are over the age of 31. l Applicants
can now apply even if they have not resided in the U.S. continuously
since 2007. However, new applicants need to have continuously resided
in the U.S. since January 1, 2010

Paul Bloom, a professor of psychology at Yale University, explains that the defense
of the DACA immigration policy is the result of too much empathy in politics.
Bloom argues that focusing on individual unlawful immigrants, “causes us to
lose sight of larger tragedies.”

As a result, empathetic politicians introduce feel-good policy that ultimately
renders the very people they are attempting to protect worse off.

What Is DACA
On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal. They are also eligible for work authorization. Deferred action is a use of prosecutorial discretion to defer removal action against an individual for a certain period of time. Deferred action does not provide lawful status.

On November 20, 2014, President Obama announced executive actions intended to resolve some of the broken components of our current immigration system. These changes are known collectively as the “Immigration Accountability Executive Actions.” As described below, the revisions to immigration policy undertaken by the President are multiple and potentially far-reaching.
I. Core Components of the Immigration Accountability Executive Actions include:
Creation of Deferred Action for Parents (“DAP”) of U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents: Extending deferred action to these parents will provide protection from deportation and work authorization for three years for an estimated 4.1 million undocumented adults who:
l and work authorization for three years to an estimated 270,000 individuals who:
- Are currently any age
- Entered the United States as a child before January 1, 2010
- Pass a background check
- Pay an application fee of $465
Qualified individuals will be able to apply for this relief 90 days from the November 20, 2014 announcement.
LIRS response: We welcome and support the President’s decision to expand deferred action to more individuals who came to the United States at a young age. In many cases, these children came seeking reunification with family members. LIRS believes strongly in upholding the sanctity of family unity. We welcome the President’s action to stabilize the status of thousands of people who live in our communities, worship in our churches, and call America home. While the Executive Action does not provide these men, women, and children with a permanent right to stay here, LIRS believes that migrants who have lived in our families and communities since they were children should be free from worry about deportation, free to focus on their studies, attaining skills and contributing to the communities they call home.
